About 85% of land degradation in the world is caused by soil erosion which is caused by water (Omatayo and Chukwuka, 2009). In many tropical and subtropical, soil erosion is a serious threat to long-term agricultural productivity unless appropriate soil conservation measures can be implemented. These problems have serious implications on the economy and the ability of the country to feed itself (Amphlett (1984). With a variable climate and unreliable weather pattern, it is increasingly becoming essential to make sure that the little water that falls to the earth is stored in a proper way for agriculture and other uses. This can be made possible by following recommended soil and water conservation practices in farmer’s fields or gardens.
