STDs are infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, or parasites from an infected person to an uninfected person through sexual contact.
Why there is a need to acknowledge the Globe with STDs?

STDs cause devastating impact on women and infants and their inter-relationships with HIV/AIDS as STDs and HIV are linked by biological interactions and because both infections occur in the same populations.

Thus, WHO and NIH support all studies for Prevention, Diagnosis, Treatment and Disease-Specific Research to spread the knowledge on STDs.
