Saffron-based crocin prevents liver cancer: Preclinical studies and beyond

Liver cancer remains among the leading causes of cancer-related death worldwide. Now new research unravels mechanisms by which saffron-based ‘crocin’ protects against liver cancer. Using murine model, human liver cancer cells, gene expression profiling and computer-assisted modeling analyses, researcher studies identifies NF-kB as a regulatory hub and a candidate therapeutic drug target for liver cancer.
